Debt really weighs you down
Debt isn’t tangible, but my goodness is it a lot of weight to carry around! Freeing yourself from debt literally takes a huge weight off your shoulders, but it doesn’t happen overnight. It takes planning, self-control, a lot of patience, and a lot more self-control. As with any endeavor, whether it be climbing a mountain, losing weight, or paying off debt, you need to start to begin. Wait a second. What does that even mean, start to begin?
There’s always tomorrow
How many times have you heard someone say they are going on a diet, but starting tomorrow or next week? Heck, forget about the diet. How many times have your heard someone say they will do anything, but starting at some date in the future? Likewise, how many times have you said something similar? Many of us have grand ambitions and life goals, but we’re only ready to tackle them when it’s convenient, which is rarely, if ever, in the present. And that’s the crux of the issue. We want to do a lot of things, but we never get started on them. I don’t know about you, but I sure don’t enjoy talking about the same goals year in and year out. It’s is a continuous reminder that all we’re doing is treading water, or worse yet, sinking.
Back in 2016, faced with crushing debt, I decided it was time to stop putting off my goal of living a debt-free life. I needed to make a change and I had to start immediately. And that’s exactly what I did. Fast forward to the present, and I have successfully eliminated all $40,000 of my credit card debt. There’s still a ways to go for me to be debt-free, but not having to make credit card payments every month has lifted a huge weight off of my shoulders. Not only can I rest easy at night, but I can focus more of my time and energy on actually enjoying life rather than stressing about my financial situation.
How was I able to do this? I stopped procrastinating and finally got to work freeing myself from the shackles of credit card debt. Let me tell you, it wasn’t so easy in the beginning, but once I started reaching milestones, I was unstoppable. As I’ve told many people, you’ve got to start, and eventually, you’ll be free. So Start And Be Free and join me and follow along on the journey to living a debt-free life.
